Stay tuned for important class news!

Kindergarten- Kindergarten is working on building their beginning reading skills using the ABC games on ABCya.
They will be working with letter recognition, sight word recognition, and creating basic word search puzzles within the games.

Grade 1- First grade will be continuing Code Studio, Course 1, which they started last year.  The class will build on the skills of looping, sequencing, and building basic programs using block programming.

Grade 2 Will be using the words from their Tagxedo project to write narrative stories about themselves in Microsoft Word.

3rd Grade
- Third grade had a wonderful time at the Bronx Zoo.  Each child has gotten their assigned animals for the project.  Parents are asked to consult the list to print out three websites for their child, as well as four separate pictures of their animal.  They will be using these resources in class to create a Google Slides project of their animal, write a report using Google Docs, and build a sculpture of their animal in art class.  They will work in the Computer Lab and on the Chromebooks in their classroom.  Once projects are done, we will be inviting the parents to view the completed work.

4th Grade:
Fourth grade will be working on building their typing skills this year using the program Typetastic.  Additional work will be done on how to edit work using spell check functions, coding with both Code Studio and Scratch, and creating a Google Slides presentation on one of their classmates.  We will also be working on several interactive projects this year, including the Wax Museum project.  Details about this will be forthcoming.
