LILT POSTER CONTEST DIRECTIONS FOR STUDENTS

● All Nassau and Suffolk County students of languages whose current,
classroom teachers are paid-up members of LILT as of February 15th of
the current, contest year, are eligible to participate in the Poster Contest.

● AWARDS: Trophies will be awarded for First Place, Second Place, Third
Place and Honorable Mention(s) and Certificates of Participation.

● CATEGORIES:
Category A: Grades 4-6 Category B: Grades 7-9 Category C: Grades 10-12

ONLY POSTERS THAT MEET THE FOLLOWING RULES WILL BE ELIGIBLE:

1. Each entry must bear only one student’s name.
2. Only posters on 18” x 24” oak tag of any color in “portrait”
orientation are acceptable.
3. Artistic media: only felt tips, watercolors, oil or acrylic paints,
pastels, colored pencils, Crayons™ or collages.
4. The use of computer for graphics, lettering or designs is not
permitted, nor are 3-D effects.
5. All work must be original. Figures, slogans, etc. protected by
copyright are not permitted.
6. The LILT Poster Contest Theme must appear in English on the
poster. In addition, other languages may be used.
Any orthographic and/or grammatical errors will disqualify the
entry.
7. Include the following information ONLY on the BACK of the poster:
• student’s name and grade
• current, classroom teacher’s name
• school name and address

ALL POSTERS BECOME THE PROPERTY OF LILT
