‚ÄčAll first graders will be participating in Young Authors. We will be studying and writing poetry for the next few weeks. Students will then type their poems in computer class. All poems will be submitted to Mrs. Hanley and the Young Author projects. You do not need to worry about working with your child on the Young Authors. It is a classroom assignment.

If your child has run out of pages in his/her blue notebook, please send in $2 to purchase a new notebook in the Supply Room at school.

Each student received a blue notebook. All homework assignments are written in the blue notebook. Please check your child's notebook each night. A typical night of homework will include Math, Spelling, and Reading.

Spelling Homework will be assigned as Sparkle. Please see the Sparkle sheet that is sent home. All instructions are listed at the top of the sheet. Each week, students will receive new spelling words. Spelling words are always written in the blue notebook and are labeled for the week. They are themed each week to go along with our Reading and Phonics work. Please use those Spelling Words to complete the weekly Spelling homework. Words will be tested on Fridays. Spelling Words are also listed on our Classroom Resources page. Extra Sparkle sheets are listed on our Classroom Resources page.

Please make sure to send your child back to school, each day, with their blue notebook.

Forgot the Homework Workbook at school? Well, you can easily print out the page!
